Default RCAF Silver wire pilot wings

Hi there guys

I came across some silver wire pilot wings on ebay. Are they legit? Maybe their new dress wings?

They are certainly new modern manufacture. It's the 1947 pattern wing with Queens crown (so post 1953), but I'm not sure if it's still the pattern in use today. I thought they had gone back to half wings?

The RCAF has returned to this style of wing, but I am not sure that the new issue wings are metalic wire.
That vendor is noted for the after market insignia that he sells.

I shall have to keep an eye out to see what the fly boys on base are wearing for wings.

Thanks, that would be interesting to see what they wear for formal dress. Used to be gold bullion wire wings - maybe silver wire now but I tend to agree that the wire wings that are pictured are a fantasy item, but who knows?
