I have an ROI (round) pin on its way (already in the post) , a Welsh and Overseas due next week !

So , over 50% of this years "specials" sorted . The others usually don't appear until nearer Poppy Week but if anyone spots them please let me know. Thanks !

Just got a "Deputy PAO" badge from a fellow collector , it goes well with the other two badges.

Each year , Poppy Cabs London provide a free taxi service for military veterans attending Remembrance Sunday events. They also have badges produced and the donations are shared between the Royal British Legion and the Taxi Charity for Military Veterans. ?

This year they have produced 2 badges but this could possibly be the last year they do so.

The Imperial War Museums organised a series of events in partnership with The Royal British Legion to commemorate the Centenary of the First World War.
They produced a set of badges and I have finally got hold of the Gallipoli one I needed to complete my set.

1. Led by IWM.
2. Basic logo.
3. Gallipoli 2015.
4. Jutland 2016.
5. Somme 2016.
6. Passchendaele 2017.
7. Amiens 2018.
8. Armistice 2018.
9.1914-1918/2014-2018.

Are 9 badges the complete set? If so, it is a strange selection. Why no Mons, Le Cateau, Marne, 1st Ypres, 2nd Ypres, Loos, Arras, Messines or Cambrai of the larger offensives?

I can find very little information about the badges IWM produced , the list is based on photos I have seen or been told about by others (I didn't know about the Gallipoli one until someone on here mentioned it).

Perhaps they produced the badges for specific events/lectures ?

If anyone knows of any others please let me know ...... and I'll start searching again !

This is the one given to us as participants of the "Nation's Thank You" which was the walk past Cenotaph following the 2018 Remembrance Parade and Service. Note the addition of the "Armistice 2018"

This unexpected but most welcome poppy pin arrived this morning (Thank You !). It is a great addition to my set.

These pins were first produced in 2013 and in 2020 they had to change the shape/design due to RBL copyright rules.

Nice to have one with the King's cypher.

Here are two unique badges produced for special events in France , they relate to Madame Anna Guérin .

2021 : 11 November 2021 event in Aubigny-sur-Nère , a town square was inaugurated in her name (Espace Anna Guérin ) and the Mayor gave the VIPs a badge to wear .

2022 : The Souvenir Français (French equivalent to the CWGC) had an exhibition about Madame Anna Guérin and chose the same design as Aubigny had used the previous year. The exhibition was part of an Entente Cordiale weekend at Montreuil-sur-Mer , to commemorate the restoration of Earl Haig's statue in the town

Note : Aubigny-sur-Nère has a 600 year history with Scotland/Royal House of Stuart .

Madame Anna Guérin was a fascinating lady whose involvement in the Poppy Appeal/Remembrance is often overlooked . Recently a great book about her was published and the author (Heather Johnson) also has the most detailed site about the history of the Poppy Appeal in the UK and Commonwealth.
