Royal Sussex Regiment Bullion Blazer Badge?
I picked this badge up thinking that it may be a Royal Sussex Regiment blazer badge, it measures 75mm x 55mm.
Whatever it was attached to, it has been trimmed to outline prior to being stitched to it, thus there's no indication of a scroll bearing the regimental title having been removed from below the star. It appears to be too large to be a cap or collar badge and illustrations I've seen of those insignia show enamelled silver central designs. Am I correct in thinking it's a blazer badge? Edit - I hadn't noticed until now - the central device Garter motto is on a circlet, rather than on a buckled strap. Last edited by leigh kitchen; 12-05-21 at 09:19 AM. |

Certainly a blazer badge to my knowledge.

Thanks, it seems too big to be anything else although fairly small for a blazer badge, and the circlet rather than garter seems a variation more likely for a blazer badge than an official insignia.

Hi Leigh,
The size is actually spot on for a forage cap badge, but from everything else it looks like a blazer badge to me. I've sent you a PM. KR, Pete |
