1st Hussars Cap badge
I picked up a nice 1st Hussars badge at the Ottawa Militaria show on Sunday. I picked it up to replace the existing badge I was using on display. the first two photos show my new pick up. The second two photos show both badges as a side by side comparison.
Question I have is about the badge on the right of the photo, it is much brighter and has a solid back as opposed to the die struck badge on the left. Why is this badge so different? Is it a WWII era badge? Any information on this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Cliff, Good talking to you and your much better half at the Show yesterday. Hope the jet lag is evaporating.
The badge in your querry I think is a recent or current issue example. Cast with that gilt finish. Mike Reintjes may know more. Some of these current badges are looking more and more like Cracker Jack prizes...opps that is dating myself. Maybe more like Kinder Surprises...
