Default Are these Boer War Slouch hat badges

I am hopeful that one or all of these may be Boer war Slouch Hat badges.

5 over MI I believe to be 5th Mounted infantry? the other two I have no idea the last badge is silver in appearance.

Looking forward to the power of the forum to help sort these out

Regards

Stephen

I think the second one is for the Colonial Defence Force, 2nd Boer War.

Default Guild Street Central School

The last badge is Guild Street Central School from Burton upon Trent. I can say this with absolute certainty because my father went there in the late 30s and I have his badge along with his Signals cap badge and medals. I have never seen another. Do you intend selling or putting on Ebay?

Default No

No - just a school badge that was worn on the front of a traditional school cap. Guild Street Central School wasn't a grammar school but you did need to pass an exam to get in. My grandfather (who was a working man) paid for my father to be tutored in the run up to his exam. According to my Uncle when he got his cap and badge he never took it off!
