Default Unknown Victorian Badge (Belt Plate?)

Hello All. Can anyone assist me in identifying the following Badge (Belt Plate)? It measures about 10 cm high x 5.5 cm wide. Many Thanks
Duncan

I suspect from the casting quality and the wire fasteners that this was made on the Indian sub-continent, possibly for one of the princely states or a club, because I've fairly certain it is not Indian Army, but possibly a fantasy piece too.

Just wondering if anyone might recognize the cypher on this Badge (belt plate): it would be a start for me to be able to research it further. Any thoughts at all...??? Thanks you.

Now that is interesting! A 'dangling' letter on the cipher must make it deuced awkward to use on normal badges and fittings!
