Default Fake plastic economy cap badge on Alibaba

For the longest time I enjoyed collecting WW2 British plastic cap badges because I thought no one was reproducing them, well no longer.

http://treasurecn.en.alibaba.com/pro...ap_badges.html

Is there anything the Chinese wont knock off?

Mike

They may be using original badges for the pictures, perhaps someone would be kind enough to buy the minimum order qty of 1,000 and let's us know if they are any good

"Is there anything the Chinese won't knock off..."

In another life, I was involved in government to government dealings with the Chinese. Gradually, they would pay louder lip service to intellectual property rights under threat of sanction, but then return to business as usual.

If there's a buck in it, they will knock it off. From Gucci handbags which look indistinguishable from the real except under very close scrutiny - to cap badges - to cancer medication. So no, there isn't.

Hopefully these will be easy to spot.

Hopefully they haven't been actually made and this is more of an advertisement for what you could have made if you wanted.

As posted above by Thomas, they list them as being made of metal, so pretty easy to spot.

Mike, aside from these not being made of plastic, as previously pointed out, repro plastic badges are actually nothing new.

I've attached a photo of a plastic AAC badge I was given circa 2004.

It's made of polyurethane resin; the quality is very poor when compared to an original.

Andy.

I wish they'd just stick to making cheap kettles and other useful household appliances

I have never come across a convincing repro/fake WWII Plastic Badge, or at the very least, they were that good I did not notice (which I doubt)

Like many things its 60% knowledge and 40% intuition/feeling...

Same goes for Anodised Badges I feel, what repro's/copies there are, are well known.

The image used on the alibaba site has been taken from post #9 on this forum:

http://www.warrelics.eu/forum/insign...badges-171516/

it is slightly compressed vertically but look at the position of the visible blade at the back. Same badge.
