Default North stafford back holes

Hello again! I have this North stafford badge (don't know the era) but I am curious about four little holes that has at the back...don't go throught the badge but are visible...I have seen one NS badge in this forum (one that have the scroll out) and have too two little holes just like the four mine...do you know why that little holes? Thank you!

Cool Holes!

These holes are referred to as "sweat holes" and used during the manufacturing process by some companies to allow the escape of gases during the overlaying of the GM (brass) knot onto the white metal part of the badge.

I hope this explanation is OK.
