Hi Recee, This famous photo is one of several featuring the work of Chaplains in Normandy. Of interest, from an insignia perspective, is the patching on the Chaplain's shoulder. He appears to be wearing the Cameron Highlanders of Ottawa shoulder title. The Canadian Chaplain Service had not obtained a distinctive issue shoulder at this time. The practice had been to wear shoulder insignia for the unit to which they were attached, or to wear generic nationality titles. Their distinctive printed shoulder titles would not be ordered until August, and then some time would pass before the titles were delivered.
