I was looking for one that would have been worn by the police

I have a cast white metal one with W/E brooch fitting, aquired in Tel Aviv in 1978 and stamped yellow metal one I picked up off the ground.

I think the white metal one is the type that I am looking for.
Nice find

In WM that badge is the Arab Legion, in GM it is for the Royal Jordanian Army,
The police, which started as part of the Legion, have a very similar badge with a different Arabic legend. This is the one you want: Eddie |

Thanks Eddie. Now I have to go and check mine again as I think it might be GM rather than WM. It was you who identified mine for me a few years ago.
