Thought the members who haven't seen this would enjoy at least taking a look

Make's one wish we had a relative in the family with such good taste in collecting, and be the recipient of a few pieces....

Good whatever time it is Simon.

I went, I saw, I viewed.

Some magnificent pieces to be sold.

To see, to touch and feel,

They were wonders to behold.

On 2 Lots I bid, and Fortune shone,

I was the winning man.

To place them in my collection.

Now that is my plan.

Simon, there was some absolutely marvellous stuff there; I was talking to a couple of dealers at the venue who had never seen some of these items ever before; here's a clue, Lots 1 - 3 sold for £4,200.....................................what recession.

Merry Christmas
Regards
brian

Wonderful stuff. It's difficult to imagine getting anywhere near a collection of this quality nowadays. I bid on two items and was totally blown away :-( I was rather hoping for a Christmas gift to myself. Well done Brian!

Christmas wishes to everyone!

Neil

I didnt know Ron Handley but sad to see another well known collector pass away. Every now and again I look though his book "The First Londons" a great mixture of insignia, history and personal recollections.

Also sadly John Atherton a well known collector of Royal Marine items from Nottingham passed away a few months ago. John wrote some excellent articles on R.M. insignia for Crown Imperial and was a regular winner at Military Historical Society exhibitions.

I couldn't have put it better myself Alex,

I now have to wonder just what I'm trying to achieve, my collection pales into insignificance, in fact, by comparrison I have to wonder why I'm collecting in the first place, how proud he must have been !!

Dave.
