Default What is this badge?

Hi,

Can anyone identify this cloth badge?

From my grandfather's career 1930s til 1950s

He served in the Royal Artillery (Indian Mountain Artillery) and 11th East Africa Division and attained rank of colonel.

Thanks!

Canal Zone North flash. Worn with the two white triangles (representing a felacca) at top right.

Canal Zone South having the white triangles at bottom left (not a case of simply turning the "North" sign upside down but manufactured with the larger triangle above the smaller).

Thanks everyone,

I presume this indicates service in the Suez Canal North Zone some time between 1945-56?

Thanks everyone,

He was posted in Suez so that makes sense,

I'm guessing sometime between 1939 and 1945,

The Canal Zone signs were not introduced until March 1949 so can only have been worn later.

Examples of North and South signs attached, both products of The Calico Printers Association.

Sorry,

I meant 1945-56 not 1939-45!!

Thanks for identifying the correct date as post 1949.
