Smile Logging in question

Whilst trying to log in I was asked a question, when did WWII end?

My answer 1947, which was deemed as wrong.

Now we all know that WWII was between 1939 and 1945, but it was not considered by HM governmentl officially over until September 1947, the reason being that those who died in the period between August 1945 and September 1947 due to wounds or other reasons due to military service were afforded a CWG headstone.

Cool End of the Great War

Many war memorials carry the dates 1914-1919 again for the same reason as above.

I think the Crimean War lasted until 1970 when Berwick upon Tweed finally agreed to peace with Russia.

I think the memorials have the date the last casualty from that district.
