RIR badges - opinions please
Hi gents
Total novice here so would be very obliged for opinions on the follow two badges. I think the second looks too "shiny" to be as old as the seller purports it to be, especially on the back there is no evidence of metal oxidation. Your thoughts would be much appreciated |

The first badge looks like an OSD collar badge. Can't speak to the authenticity of the Victorian badge its out of my collecting sphere.

The second badge, a Glengarry Cap badge, looks cast, maybe from an original badge, maybe not.
I personally don't like it, but other members might. Neil |

The left is a good OSD collar badge, but the right does not look good at all from the photo. Appears artificially aged, with footed lugs and poor definition. It is not cast, but die struck. I am sure others will confirm if it is ok or not. It also looks to have been silvered, which may account for it's appearance as well.
