Default Printed Airborne and Pegasus

Hi Gents,

Could I please get your opinions on these uncut examples that have been offered to me?

I appreciate they would be fairly scarce if period WW2.

Thank you.

Tom

Quite frankly Tom, really both are very common indeed, very many thousands of pairs were made, but, these days it comes down to supply and demand.
The unfortunate reality is, simply, that you certainly should not expect to be able to just buy them for pennies, you could, but, sadly, those days are long gone, more people collect and the ever increasing number of publications do not help, I'm afraid it might be a case of simply putting your hand in the old wallet, my thoughts would be for you to be realistic if you want to make a start.

Guys,

Thanks again for your advice and guidance.

Frank, I normally buy private or source stuff ‘out of the woodwork’. 9 times out of 10 you’ll find it all 100% right and your gut feeling will tell you so. Now and then you will get a scenario like this example I listed. It was together with India Airborne photo album with some lovely period pictures in but these were loose. The cynic in me would say someone sexed it up whereas the positive version - as my wife keeps suggesting - would say the vet may have bought them at a later date.

In the end I left the whole group alone.

Yours,
Tom

Well, if you were happy that the photographs were all contemporary and original, then it would simply all come down to the price sought, an average "vet" would be very unlikely to sell his photographs and once a third party gets involved, provenance is affected.
