Irish Guards pagri, I reckon it may be a Calvary badge ? Hopefully Sean might cast his eye over these.

The IG "pagri" badge is bad in my opinion, replete with footed lugs. Most everything else looks good to me with the exception of those already mentioned by Andy.

The IG Pagri is an example of the undress sabtetache badge worn by the 4 RIDG and used by the IG for the same purpose 1900-1902. I believe yours is a modern reproduction.
The 1935 Pagri stars are shown below with other stars for a size comparison, the officer' version is pierced (c) the other ranks version is not (d). Prior to 1935 the forage cap star was the approved star for the pagri but was not worn by the regiment as being too small. John |

IG - not collar badges, these are part of the shoulder title. The other ranks collar badge of the Irish Guards is a shamrock and you will typically only see it on full dress and mess dress.

I am not at all sure about this star, it looks quite poor quality. The star may be cut asymmetrically. From what I can see this looks like a star that International Militaria in NJ were selling openly as a reproduction several years ago but that appears regularly now on e-bay
see example here eBay item number:332913516827 (more than 10 available and 19 sold!) John |

From the photographs I would think the first example is okay, although sadly it has been broached.

Original examples of both the Foreign Service Helmet badges and the regiments Valise badges are rather different in terms of manufacture and materials used.

As a badge, I quite like it, but, there appears absolutely no age to it, whatsoever and a lack of quality when compared with vintage examples.
If members of the regiment actually wore these, then I would have to regard them as original, but, have they been so worn? Quote:
