Default GGHG 19 Dragoons

Here is an interesting collar badge for the GGHG, used for the Royal visit in 1959. In the shape of the 19th Alberta Dragoons, unusual as the official collar dog for the GGHG is nothing even close to this type of horse.

The horse appears to be the style of CEF 19 Alberta Dragoons, the motto states Royal Escort.

Picture courtsey CBrooker.

Interesting Badge Mike. Definitely uses the "19th AB Dragoons" horse. Do you know if they were made as a facing pair (I imagine they were)? Who was the maker on this?

I would imagine the horses would be facing each other, no idea on the maker, other than this one I cant think of any other Canadian badge using other regiments cap badge as their own.
I wonder if there is any relation between the 19AD and GGHG for this badge, myself I cant see it as they are on opposite sides of the country.
Maybe because Queen ER2 likes horses?

Forum member Jim A has/had one of these (also left facing, which makes me wonder about the facing pairs?), shown in a very old post. With a little more detail on its purpose.
