The title was not worn by the Battalion. The starch backs came out around the end of the war in 1945, maybe June or July. 1 Can Para was one of the first battalions repatriated at the end of the war and they were back in Canada by mid-June. There would be some personnel floating around the depot or on other duties in the UK who may have acquired these, but they were a private purchase item. The correct pattern looks very similar on the obverse but has a backing material usually a cream or buff coloured cotton. Bundles of this pattern were nos and have been available since the war.
