Default Just in time for Remembrance Day

Members may have seen my previous post some time ago concerning the War Grave of George Edward Carey RE - a private memorial that had fallen into disrepair and crucially no longer bore a legible name. I alerted the Commonwealth War Grave Commission and a few months later and just in time for Remembrance Day - the CWGC have erected a splendid new headstone ( on a very difficult site ) and George's new headstone will enjoy the protection of the CWGC in perpetuity .

Thank You for taking time to care about the grave of a soldier. and to do the right thing on his behalf. You should feel very proud indeed , and I for one salute you
Cheers
James

Default Volunteer for the CWGC

Thank you for the kind comments - I really enjoy my volunteering role with the CWGC - and I would highly recommend it to my forum colleagues. The CWGC is still looking for volunteers for the "Eyes on Hands on" programme in certain parts of the country -

https://www.cwgc.org/our-work/news/e...ct-relaunches/

If it does interest you then hopefully you can find out more about the role and where the vacancies are by following the link.

I gave him a coat of chippings to finish it off . Sooner or later my neighbour is going to spot that his driveway is disappearing !
