Default unidentified Formation badge

Hello everyone,
I'm looking for identification of a Formation badge which I believe to be WWII in date.
The nearest example I can find is the Ceylon Command badge but this has what appears to be a Royal Artillery coloured background.
Any information would be gratefully appreciated.
Thank you.
Aidan

An intriguing mystery.

As you say the elephant is that of Ceylon Command but the backing colours are the wrong way round for the Royal Artillery, their pagri flashes etc putting red to the front.

Given the reverse colours I would suggest it's Royal Engineer related as an RE Fortress Company served as part of the defences of the Trincomalee naval base.

So it could be a unit badge either worn on the sleeve or more likely as a pagri badge on the tropical helmet.

Thank you Jon, I've had this a while now and at least know it's an offshoot of the Ceylon Command.
