German Police Badge?

Dear forum members,

How are you? I hope everything goes well. May I ask you some assistance?

I recently purchased a German Police emblem? I want to use it on my website. It has an "A" mark in it from Assmann. And yet I think the badge is fake. I'm just starting to collect German badges and I'd like to learn how to prevent this?

Be prepared for a difficult journey if starting to collect Third Reich badges as the whole market is awash with fakes and fantasy items. Perhaps sourcing images of badges in the Public domain for your excellent website would be a wiser and cheaper option.

Thank you so much for your answer. But I see it as a 'mission' to put only my own items on my website out of respect of those who are featured on it. I will accept the difficult journey I guess with help from the forum members there has to be a way right?

Recommend you select a couple of respected Dealers then and be prepared to spend quite a bit! Over in the UK the Websites for Regimentals or The Old Brigade seem to have a good reputation but again prices are high for even the common badges and insignia.
