Default Help - Glider Copilot Wing Authentic?

Hi guys, I've seen a few different styles of this wing. The backing on this one has the grid pattern and the threading is not frayed like the Middle East remakes. Has the angular style of threading to create the circle around the G being typical of These Wings. I thought I would give it a try but wanted to run it by you as my knowledge is limited here. Thanks so much for your time

All Glider Pilot Regiment Pilots wore the same wings.

Currently these are Air Cadet Glider Wings, Instructor has a crown on top.

So these would be worn by glider pilots "in training" during the World War II period?

No - in this context Air Training Corps Cadets are modern members of a youth organisation aged 11 to 18, not trainee pilots in WWII.

Not strictly true - later in WWII GPR 2nd pilots wore pale blue wings with a yellow ā€˜Gā€™ in a circle in the middle. They were not trained to the same standard as first pilots and did not receive the crown & lion with wings badge.

The 2nd Glider Pilot badge was introduced by ACI 1128 of 1944. The shape of the wings was the same as the 1st Glider Pilot badge. The Air Training Corps badge had (has) a different shape to the wings.

Herewith the 2nd pilot's wings, elbow Army Flying Badge (as worn by fully qualified 1st pilots).
