Default Northumberland Fusiliers

Gents

I have had these two items for a while, and had forgotten about them as they are not my focus of interest. Can anyone please tell me what exactly they are, and approx dates? Are they genuine? If so, I think the SA scroll is unusual?

The photos are dreadful - apologies.

Cheers, Neil

1881-1893 or's glengarry I think (what height is it?)

+

officers osd territorial battalion cap badge. 4th 5th and 6th battalions

1908-1924, allegedly worn up to 1934

-according to Denis Wood-

2nd and 3rd Vol battalions were awarded the SA honour which carried over into the territorial battalions, displayed with pride on their insignia - but became irrelevant when honours were allocated by regiment rather than battalion.

(pm me if you have a price and disposal in mind )

Thanks Mike. Fantastic I have PM'd you.

Seems to be a fairly comprehensive response, but I assume these two are reasonably rare, and genuine?

Cheers, Neil

The second is certainly rare, but the first one might be a so-called "Fox Re-strike" produced by a reputable maker using original dies, but with the lugs placed differently to the originals. I cannot remember what the differential was, but someone here will know.
