Here is the collar badge, used in WWII as a cap badge, I think. There is a file on Wikimedia Commons - 'Bagde of 20th Punjabis' which you can download to work from.

Hi Peter,
I am actually looking for the shoulder title of the 20th Punjab infantry that was serving during 1890s in the North west frontier. Along with these we are representing the 36th Sikh regiment too during 1897. I managed to find out about the 36th Sikhs, but not much about the titles and badges of the 20th Punjab Regiment.. The bugle horn that you attached a picture of, like you said, is of 1900-1922. So I'll require something much before that around the era of the battle of saragarhi.. |

I f they were wearing the shoulder titles in 1890-1902, I suspect it would have been the 'XXP'. I doubt they wore any pagri badge except the 'emerald green' end. Here are a coupkle illustrations, one a period photo. No provenance on the painting but at first lance it looks pretty good.

The 36th are pictured in several contemporary photos, in one of which they are shown wearing a pagri badge but that would have been unlikely for service dress and another photo, of survivors of the battle suggests that they were not wearing either badges or quoits on their turbans while on service, if one assumes that the uniforms in that photo represent wht them men were wearing at the famous action.
