Mobile Defence Corps Flag Centre Piece?
I picked this up a few days ago, the design is possibly in paint rather than ink, on a flag bunting type fabric which is still stiff, presumably sized, and the sign measures about 27" tall by 20" wide.
The coloured background to the Mobile Defence Corps cap badge design seems strange, I wonder if the red/grey is a mistake and it should be all red or all grey. Does anyone know what the purpose of this item was please? |

The original intention was that the Mobile Defence Corps would have both RAF and Army battalions but the RAF pulled out. The two colours representing both parts survived to be used on the Corps shoulder title and I would guess that bottom colour on the piece shown was meant to be RAF light blue.
Possibly cut from the centre of a battalion flag? Jon |

Thanks, I wasn't aware of the RAF "link" - this may have been intended as a flag centre piece, it's not been cut from the rectangular piece of cloth it's printed on. Somebody's made a start at bottom right as viewed.
