OK back to basics. Pre WW1 the F&F yeo bought their own badges. They were also issued in brass with a vertical shank (nothing to do with 1916 brass economy) but mostly in white metal. In WW1 the regiment became a a battalion of an infantry regiment and the 1st Bn dropped the thane badge.

From 1916 the WD issued the TF badges. F&F Yeo war raised 2nd Battalion would have had these with sliders.

Post 1st World war the Thane badge was full size in w/m. This was worn up until the 1950s when a small badge was issued. This was soon replaced by the new regiment's a/a badge on amalgamation. An a/a Thane badge has been faked.

So any lugged badge is suspicious imo.

So if I want a WWII F&F badge I must look for a white metal with slide!
