Cheshire Yeomanry shoulder flash

Hi Guys,

I recently came across this Cheshire Yeomanry shoulder flash.

Does anyone know when it was worn? I suspect it was worn by the Cheshire Yeomanry Signals rather than RAC?

White on Army blue was post 1947 RAC. Somewhere in the Universe there is a very rare Leicestershire Yeomanry version as well.

I believe these to be WW2 Signals, to be replaced post War by red on yellow shoulder titles upon conversion from Sigs to RAC.

Thanks Griff. Do you know when was the red/yellow CHESHIRE YEOMANRY was worn?

The red/Yellow was WW2 RAC Not sure when the Cheshire wore them in WW2 as they were in Syria on horses in 1940 and also part of the Signals later. So the red on yellow must have been worn in the post war period when converting to the RAC role. Must have been a short lived item? That post war period was a bit mixed as the LYPAO (for example) held on to their Red/Blue shoulder titles and very briefly wore the white/Army blue within the (new) Officers.... having converted to RAC in 1947 like the Cheshire's.

Looks like I have two flashes now for the Cheshire Yeomanry. Just need to try and find a cloth beret badge for them now.
