Leicestershire Helmet plate Genuine? Please Help
Hi,
Could any body help with this helmet badge. There is so much work in it I think it might be genuine. The material is faded velvet on some kind of card board Many thanks in Advance Pricey |

I believe the Helmet plate is fake, but the HPC may be genuine.
The patina and colour and 'actually' the lack of detail lead me to this conclusion. regards

I agree, the back is very smooth.

The "splurge" around the central part of the crown is the first thing to look for on fake helmet plates. Originals are much more tidy. The centre would appear to be genuine.

I find that if there is a bump in the design of the backplate, at the five o’clock position, then is a modern repro.
Because the modern copies have this fault. |

I too, do not believe the plate itself to be original, sadly more and more of these marriages appear to be taking place these days, very annoying, my thoughts would be to simply get a refund.
