Army remounts badges
Hi
I've got a couple of nice original Army Remount Service cap badges with the crown. But are these original please? I have my doubts but I'm no expert. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/285524376...3ABFBMvrWDu_Fi https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/364446283...Bk9SR761g7vxYg Many thanks Martyn |

Brocket money's one with the impression on the back is a fake.

Thank you Alan. The other one is probably ok then?

It’s a duffer. Google eye donkey, when you look closely at the seeding you’ll see it’s pock-marked from a drill tip rather than in relief. You see this on a few fakes like the Hants (inc. Wm & 1st V.B.) and Montgomeryshire Yeo.

Thank you both. I've never seen one before and probably rare I imagine.

They are fairly scarce, yes. Certainly far harder to find than the other Remounts pattern.
One in the last Bosley’s badge auction (27th Sept), Lot 282 - £45 hammer. https://auctions.bosleys.co.uk/catal...es-an-lot-282/ |

Thank you. Those copies on eBay are expensive. Research and this site I think are the best options when buying cap badges, especially ones like these.

Geoff Newman has just listed a nice example for £75.
No connection to seller etc. |
