RCD plate
I am currently selling this on ebay and believe it to be from the old mounted troop a few years ago because it has no crown . Well made two piece with 4 short screw posts. I have had this for years and just decided to sell it .Can any RCD experts confirm ?

Paul... I see there is no crown as you say... also the outer rim of the star is a different configuration... the inner ring seems more circular than oval than on the 1908 version... are you thinking this was a more modern version made up for more recent use?

Hi Jim yes I suspect there where plates made at some point for a mounted troop after the one with the crown was produced, but as this appears to have some age I am at a loss here as to the time line for this plate.

Can anyone give me more info on this helmet plate ? I have over 20 ebay watchers and 2 bidders on this so it must be something more than I am aware of agewise

paul,
I have no idea and have not had a chance to share the photos with the regimental museum. I am bidding because I collect Cdn cavalry helmets.

I just had a last look under madnification before packing but no markings, I lied it is three piece and I think he got a good deal even if it is more recent. I feel it is from a mounted troop they had many years ago long before the LIBERALS destroyed the armed forces and very few of these where made.
