Default RAF Burma Pilot Wing Theater Made

I purchased these wings about a year and a half to two years ago and the only information given had to do with the squadron and aircraft flown...a Hawker Hurricane in number 42 squadron in India or Burma I think. If anyone has further info on the Squadron and their exploits that would be great.
Enjoy!

Being a locally made badge, the item in question is most probably unique and without direct contact with the wearer you will never find out anything else about it.

Thanks so much for your reply Dave, what I was asking , forgive me for not wording it clearly, is any information on the squadron and what they did in the CBI theater. Thank you Dave!

Lifted from Wiki.

On 14 December 1936 'B' flight of No. 22 Squadron RAF was expanded into a new No. 42 Squadron. In 1939 No. 42 Squadron was based at RAF Bircham Newton. Initially the unit was equipped with Vickers Vildebeests before re-equipping with Bristol Beauforts in January 1940. The squadron operated also a bomber unit in the Burma campaign flying Blenheims during 1942 and as a fighter-bomber unit flying Hurricanes during 1943. The squadron disbanded on 30 June 1945 but on the following day 146 Squadron was renumbered to No. 42 Squadron and flew Thunderbolts. The squadron fought on with these until the Burma campaign ended and thereafter the squadron disbanded on 30 December 1945 at Meiktela.

You could get a copy of Bloody Shambles. The Air War for Burma by Christopher Shores for a more in depth account of their actions.
