Default Metropolitan or Military Police cloth badge?

Hi All,

Any help with Identifying this cloth badge would be much appreciated, please.

Its white cotton on dark blue cloth. Measures 2x2.5 inches approximately. Its been folded into the shape you see and has remains of stitching from wear. Maybe on an epaulette?

I am leaning towards Metropolitan Police.

Thanks for your help in advance,

Phil

Phil,

I have a similar patch but mine is in bullion wire. I think it is from a garment which was once worn by Metpol. matrons. They were employed to deal with female prisoners who were held in police (as opposed to prison) custody.
I hope this is helpful.

Dave.

I've done a bit of digging. I found this stock photo. Look at the lady to the right, left breast pocket.

Very nice Dave, they must be the earlier versions of mine.

Jerry, are you starting on The Met now?

NO, it would have gone into my general police section.
