10th King’s Liverpool
Are the small Liverpool Scottish badges sweethearts or cap badges? Picture shows comparison against a full size badge.

Nice grouping particularly if related to a soldier,
Noted the larger (Glengarry) badge is pinned,- I’ve seen a few like that, not unusual with Scottish Regts badges and most likely adopted by some in the LS Bn Paul |

Thanks Paul,
Further photo of the Bomber’s badge. I don’t have a reverse but the presence of a backing plate suggests it is lugged. |

It looks a nice example Mark, these were personally bought by the CO, they come with a Gaunt makers plate to reverse.
I’m not sure How many were made but I’m sure Peter Brydon has more details than I can remember Paul |

Liverpool Scottish Sweetheart Brooch
I recently acquired this sweetheart brooch which seems similar to yours but has added blue enamel to top scroll.

Peter,
Many thanks for that, something else to look for on period postcards and photos. Regards, Simon. |

You might know that the 10th Bn badge in two pieces was authorised in 1908
The one piece was authorised in 1916. I'm away and can't access the WO Pattern number, I'll get the details when I'm home..... I've also discovered about 10 or so dies - ie also for the two pieces. Last edited by KLR; 13-09-22 at 07:21 AM. |
