You have an album of cavalry CFSC - a recent aquisition, 5 Royal Inniskilling Dragoon Guards officers circa 1953-ish (marked as by appt to the late King George VI):

I've only noticed one other 5 RIDG CFSC for sale that I can think of - eBay, a few months ago, a more recent ORs one sold along with a stable belt and a few other bits but it had slits cut in it for some reason so I didn't bother with that.

My contribution is a postcard I've had for about forty years, dated 1915, a very young volunteer in the 3rd Hussars, wearing his best for the portrait, complete with the handsome regimental crop.

2nd Life Guards. GOC's parade 9th June 1914
Another from my collection.
Here's a cut down view of a damaged RPC dated on the back as been sent on 19/06/14.Probably sold through the PRI. It indicated that the parade shown took place on Tuesday 9th June 1914,with the GOC inspecting A Sqn. Note the exceptionally tall soldier at the centre of the photograph. It's poignant as it's possibly the last time the whole of 2nd Life Guards paraded in this way. |
