Default Worn? Or Fantasy Items

Clearly intended for the Royal Artillery are/were these badges worn or are they another example of "speculative manufacturing"?

Thoughts please.

A batch of them sold 2 years ago but haven't seen anything to show the were genuine/issued.

One with roman numerals , for 25 Field Regt RA was produced through the Regimental PRI Shop for use on Sports wear. (Posted by 54Bty)

There was a batch of them for sale in March at £40.00 each ! There were also numbered Royal Logistic Corp ones from the same forum member.

https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...ad.php?t=77856

Final post from seller in Log Corp thread:

"It seems I have been undone. I have been told by people who know such things that these are not official badges. It is now clear why I have never seen such badges before. Both the Logistic and Artillery badges will now slink back into the slithery folder from whence they came. The many unseen others by their side. Exit stage left."

I am not sure if the full story of these numbered badges is clear.
They seem to exist in such small numbers and not present in every collectors spare box.

My examples I acquired in a large multi-folder collection of modern cloth insignia and all the items seeming to have a plausible identification. It appears that the folders seemed to be a rather academic collection from start to finish with at least 80% even I could recognize. The Logistic Corps items fascinating.

Outside of this forum discussion I do not recall seeing other examples of these Artillery patches in the years gone by.
The bottom line is that somebody has made these items in evidently small numbers and not embellished with sculls daggers and wings for the fantasy market. Somebody out there has an explanation.

Fake Royal Regiment of Artillery sleeve badges c2014.
Sold through ebay.
Note the different sizes of the numbers and letters and the crooked way they are applied. They roughly follow an ORBAT off the internet which was incorrect, 4 and 73 Batteries did twin, but as far as I know 18 and 52 did not they both left 18 Med Regt RA in 1969 and went to different Regiments. By 2014 only 18 Bty was still serving.

There are 3 sellers offering numbered 12 Regiment RA TRF patches , with one even stating "AS USED IN RECENT CONFLICTS" !

I guess someone should have told their C.O as she appeared on their Twitter feed at the end of March wearing the standard one with no numbers.

Since 2014 and CGS direction on TRFs and Formation signs to be standardised all such regimental variations were removed and these numbered ones are totally false.

Looks like the sort of thing manufactured for the front of body armor. Lots of this 'unofficial' stuff kicking around.
