Default RM collar or cap

Hi all,

can anyone identify whether the badge on the right is a collar or part of one of the 2 or 3 piece badges; I've shown it alongside an OR cap badge for comparison.

RM 004.jpg

many thanks in anticipation for your help.

Iain

Hi,

I think if you can give the actual measurements of the badge it will help to identify it.

Regards

Phil

Default Possibly either

Iain - I think it could be either. I believe that, in brass, the ORs collar was the same size as that part of the officer's 2 part cap badge.
I don't think it is relevant but in more modern times officers collars only had a single leaf at the ends of the laurel wreath but ORs still had 2.

Phil,

the badge in question is 32mm high and 37.5mm wide. The globe is roughly the same size as the OR's but the wreath slightly smaller. The lugs are also closer together if that's relevant.

Ray,

thanks for the input. My little knowledge is from K&K only.

regards,

Iain
