William, well done.
Were you looking for a printed North Nova title?

Here is Lorne Scots printed title that I saw sold on eBay today. I have not seen one before.

These are a little harder to find than the average printed title but I still see them regularly for sale.

The Lorne printed titles were made in both types of "canvas" material. No 2 Cotton Drill and No 2 Satin Drill.

" both types of "canvas" material. No 2 Cotton Drill and No 2 Satin Drill..."
I never knew there were two types of canvas for canadian printed titles. |

Hi Bill, Yes, the first pattern material is a bit coarser grain and heavier weight. They feel thicker in the fingers. Calico used No 2 Cotton until the late spring of 1944, when they had an issue with the Royal Winnipeg Rifles titles. The black apparently came out looking grey, so they decided to print the R Wpg R titles in medium green. They were abhored by the unit and CMHQ received complaints about the titles. Upshot was that CMHQ went to Calico who suggested that the problem could be addressed by changing the weight of the fabric and using a more closely woven fabric. Which they did.

Footnote to above. The change over in fabric took place while many titles were being produced. After May-June of 1944, all Canadian printed badges were made on No 2 Satin. For units in 1 CID, 2 CID and 3 CID plus a few senior formation patches there are two weights of material, if the contract had been run. (So, for the R Wpg Rif the med green is No 2 Cotton, and the black one is No 2 Satin.)

I just discovered this thread. Wonderful collection of cap badges and shoulder titles! I've been unknowingly attempting to recreate your group of cloth titles. See https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...ad.php?t=72106
I would appreciate your comments and any suggestions on how to plug those pesky holes.
