Default OCS PATCH

I recently brought this cloth patch, it was described as "BRITISH OFFICER CANIDATE SCHOOL" Can you tell me anything about this ? Is it British, American etc ??

No such institution existed to my knowledge.

There was RMC Sandhurst and RMA Woolwich for peacetime officer training. The Senior Division OTCs existed at Universities as feeders for those.

In wartime various training battalions, including the Inns of Court OTC, trained officers. None of them used OCS.

The colours an round shape would suggest Uk Civil Defence ? is the back pale hessian ?

I don't think it is this, but the term OCS (C for Cadet) was also used by UK:

History. The Mons OCS was closed in 1972, and its responsibilities transferred to the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, which was re-organised as an academy for student officers and officer cadets, including regulars, short servicemen, and Territorials.


The size of the letters indicates to me that it represents COS not OCS
