Default Tank Corps?

Sirs is this badge authentic?
I am aware of the ‘spanner’ fake, which this is not, but I have seen other badges deemed questionable and I was unsure why.
Thank you
Mike

With a respect, and I mean that, is the lack of opinion due to inadequate photos or is the conclusion so obviously good or bad that it doesn’t warrant response? I realize that the position of the slider is troubling, but research indicates that it is not conclusive with regard to authenticity.
I really appreciate those have viewed the thread, but would ask for an opinion good or bad.
I don’t want to display a bad badge.
Thank you
Mike

Mike,

Is there any chance of getting a better picture of the front? Perhaps it’s my eyes but it’s pretty blurry. Main thing you’re looking to avoid is the dreaded ‘spanners’, can’t focus on yours well enough to see either way? There is another fake that doesn’t have spanners but does have a lopsided crown.

From the back yours doesn’t look bad, most fakes have very poor reverse detail.

In the mean time this is a good thread to look through to compare your example to https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...ght=tank+corps

Luke

Luke here are what I hope are improved photos. It definitely is not the spanner fake. I don’t believe the crown is lopsided.
I saw that thread, it closely resembles the top left in the 1st photo. Before I request help,l normally view every thread I can find. If unsure I will ask the opinion of those who know more than me.

Mike,
Good news there’s no spanners or lopsided crown. It’s not the nicest or best example out there but I too think it’s ok.

I also have one of these and like you all I have seen to knock it is the slider position. The Tank front is more acute than most versions. Regards, Paul.

I too, would think it is original just from the photographs shown, a very considerable number of badges were produced of various quality.
