Default Corfu Police?
Season 3 of the TV series The Durrells has son Leslie join the local police. He is depicted in uniform wearing a Maltese Cross style cap badge with what appears to be a Hellenic crown. Is this a genuine item, and if so does anyone have an example or a close-up illustration?

It was used prior to the King being deposed (whenever that was).

Late 1930's till 1973, the crown was replaced by the Phoenix of the junta till Dec 1974 and the a new badge was designed when Greece became a Republic. The City Police merged with the Gendarmarie in 1984 to become the Greek Police.

That would make sense. The TV show is set just before the outbreak of WW2, around 1938-39. Thanks to both for the information.
