1er BFMC beret badge for review
Hello all,
I'd be interested in opinions regarding this badge of the 1er Bataillon de Fusiliers Marins Commandos (1er BFMC), Free French Navy. Since there are so few originals and so many restrikes, reproductions and outright fakes, I assume this one is not an original. (The originals shown on the Forum with two-digit issue numbers do not appear with a 0 initial digit, i.e. 057.) However, recent threads on the topic prompted me to post it here for confirmation. Its dimensions are 48mm height, 46mm width, and 3mm thickness. Thanks in advance, Donovan

Hi Donovan
This is a reproduction I'm afraid. If you study the images in this post look at all the details and you will notice lots of differences: https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...96&postcount=1 cheers Paul

Paul has it covered - I agree with his opinion. Unfortunately, this is one of the far fewer solid back reproductions. As we know, most 'souvenir' types are die struck, with various maker marks etc.

I suspected as such, thanks Paul and Mike.
