5th (Sutherland & Caithness) Btn Seaforth Highlanders WW1 Cap badge?
I have a rather large cap badge or brooch for the 5th (Sutherland & Caithness) Battalion Seaforth Highlanders that I need assistance with.
I have been told its a WW1 Glengarry badge but it seems a bit big. Can't find much info on it. I think the WW2 one is a bit smaller without the fob. The badge measures 2 3/16" on the round and 2 5/8" tall. Cap badge or pipers plaid brooch?

I also have another one, same size but with a well fed cat and slight variations in the stamping, sans pin.
Any assistance or info would be appreciated. Again, I don't keep a lot of British badges. Thanks

Both are the standard OR cap badges for this battalion, until 1921 if I am not mistaken, when the belt and buckle was replaced with a plain circlet. The size is normal and they were not just for pipers.
Brooch fittings are like these are very common to these badges. CB

I have the second one pictured which I think is OK. Is the 1st pictured also thought to be good? Regards. Paul.

Thanks everyone. I had done a deep dive through the other posts but was having a hard time seeing anything on the badge with the buckle and the WW1 photos were quite grainy. I will mark them as WW1 / Pre-1920 and box them til I figure out their fate.
Thanks again
