Hi, I don't have all the badges that were illustrated here, but I have these to add. The officers badge reads Transvaal Scottish Regiment, the other badges read Transvaal Scottish Volunteers. The buckle reads Transvaal Scottish. The small badge on the left has 4 small holes in. I believe that this badge was mounted on a dirk. Enjoy. Regards Andrew

Hi Andrew,

Mueseum 21June 2012 A2.JPG During the 1922 strike or "Rand Revolt", the Transvaal Scottish band were deployed immediately in their "green uniforms" at Dunswart and at Brixton Ridge. This led to damage to their uniforms which took the regiment years to recover. The band had just returned from a Caledonian Society gathering in the Eastern Cape. As a very young man, my grandfather was a member of the Transvaal Scottish Regiment and he was mobilised for active service during the strike. |

Thanks Iain,
I will do more postings over the next few days. Unfortunately, I am in a part of the world where the internet connections are not good. Regards, Will |

What are the dimensions of this badge, is it the same as the sporran badge? Thanks. Cheers, Alex |
