The entry from "Edward's and Langley", which shows a photo of a badge as per the one in question:

‘S' IN SMALL WREATH (51A)
SCOUT
Clothing Regulations (India) 1909
Skill at Arms
Upper right (NCO's and some men) Lower left (Men in some regiments)
This is an unusual item and is probably the first 'wreath' badge issued to infantry or cavalry. As such it is untypical and could be mistaken for a foreign item rather than one worn by British and Indian soldiers of the Army of India. It was made of brass and CR (India) 1909 stated: (para 75) - "Metal Scouts' badges, home pattern (12) for 1st and 2nd Class British Cavalry scouts and 'S' within laurel wreath for British and Indian infantry and Indian Cavalry are obtainable on repayment from Army Clothing Factories". There is no obvious reason for a different badge, for with the small numbers involved even worth-while economies seem unlikely. The net result was that there was no way of distinguishing between the higher and lower grades of Scout in units adopting this badge.

Note that you should not publish this picture. It has a digital signature and they will find it. You'll get a serious invoice plus legal threats.

Now, I suggest you add pictures and provenance of your badges to this thread.
As with buttons, many badge sellers make up an ID and everyone copies those IDs. Debunking them takes a lot of effort. Once accepted some collectors present themselves as the guy who found the proper ID.
The badge worn in the Getty image isn't the same as the badge in question other than it is a form of "S" within a wreath.
(The other link is giving a Trip Advisor page).
The Edwards and Langley book shows the badge as per the one in question.
