Opinions on these WW1 CEF badges
Hello,
I've just started to collect some Canadian WW1 CEF badges. Could the CEF collectors please let me know if these badges are original or fake. I've been told that the 120 badge has a stamp of Tiptaft Bham on the back top right side, but it's hard to read. And that the 104 badge has a plate with a stamp of G & S Co 112 Regent. The 86 badge has a stamp with Geo. H. Lees & Co. 1915. I would be very grateful for any help provided. Many Thanks, Invest

ww1 cef cap badges
Hello!
I agree with Bill A. These badges seems all good. Except the 134th. No sliders but lugs! The pics are very dark....I do not see any trace of a repair.... Good afternoon. JPV

46th Overseas Btn
I have a 46th Overseas Btn with a slider and one with loops, is the slider a fake or does it stand a chance of being a good one?

CEF badges were made both in Canada and the UK. Some UK makers used sliders, and are totally authentic. I think it was Tiptaft in particular who used sliders.

Opinions on these WW1 CEF badges
Hello,
Here are 3 more Canadian WW1 CEF badges. Hopefully the pictures are clear so identification can be made to whether they are original or fake. The Canadian Machine Gun Battalion badge has a stamp on the back with FIRMIN LONDON and 2 blades. I was just wondering if the 2 blades identify the badge as being an earlier variation type. Once again, I would be very grateful for any help provided. Many Thanks, Invest

Rob, your 46th is good. There were three documented makers, Birks, Ellis and Tiptaft. Your badge is likely a Tiptaft.
Invest, your badges are all good. The CMGC is an officer's service dress finish.
