Queen Victoria Rifles Badges Collection
My Partner's Grandfather served before and during the 2nd World War with the Queen Victoria Rifles which was at the time, I believe, a Motorcycle borne TA unit. He took part in the Siege of Calais in 1940 where he was subsequently taken Prisoner of War. He earned a Mention in Despatches whilst a Prisoner for successfully escaping from his Camp and making it back to Allied Lines. After the War he continued in the Territorial Army being Commissioned into the Royal West Kents and attaining the rank of Captain. Throughout his military career he collected a vast array of Military Badges and associated items and these now form part of a Collection of which my Partner is justly proud and possessive!. She does, however, allow me to look through the collection from time to time and I have taken the opportunity to photograph some of the badges which relate to the QVR I believe
Apologies to Leigh for showing these here, he has seen them before and has kindly assisted me with some identifications in the past. Firstly, the Crossed Rifles Marksmanship badge. Last edited by Hawthorn; 04-09-18 at 12:03 PM. |

And lastly for now, two KRRC shoulder titles which were with these badges.
Among the collection are a number of World War Two Formation Badges, Rank epaulettes, Medals and ephemera which I will try to post as time allows. All comments and corrections welcome. Regards Simon. Last edited by Hawthorn; 04-09-18 at 12:38 PM. |

Rob,
Rest assured those badges are closely guarded by my other half, they won't get split up, ever Simon. |
