Default Le regiment de chateauguay QC badge

Were these badges actually collar badges and then worn as a sleeve badge for the 4 r22r? Or where they only made to be worn as a sleeve badge?

Hi Oliver. The R de Chateauguay was redesignated as 4 Batallion R 22é R in 1954 and as part of the re-organization, they agreed to adopt the badges and insignia of the Van Doo's. A queen's crown cap and collars were never authorized. The qc example is a purpose designed badge, and not a collar. A bit more info here, http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...ht=chateauguay Since that post I have seen the Dress Instructions file for the Chateauguay and the information should be updated.

Had a quick look at the Chateauguay Dress Instructions file. The sleeve badge was authorized in 1958, based upon the design used on the kc collar badge. The sleeve badge was authorized in gilt and silver for WO1's and officers. It was to be brass on white metal for all other ranks.
