Royal Artillery badge with lugs and a slider
I am sure that this officers gilt badge is ok as it was given to me back in the 50's. But can someone clarify the period of use pls. Many thanks.

Unfortunately not and I have not seen many of these either. I recall the officer who gave it to me mentioning that he would try and get hold of one of that type. But we moved away to yet another camp shortly afterwards - these days I would have harrassed him with emails.... David |

That version was in use from 1948 to 1954, then a version with a St., Edward's Crown was used until replaced by the embroidered wire badge circa 1969. As with all badges the change did not happen overnight.
