Two DZs / TRFs for ID
Can anyone identify these two DZs / TRFs?
The medical one looks like the Army Medical Assistant but I don't think it is. The 'PWS' I think is Air Training Corps. In both cases I've drawn a blank so far. Thank you! |

I am thinking the second one may be the new version of the Medical Assistant.
Could the first one RAF Regiment??? Terry |

I suggest this first badge is for the ATC Essex Wing and is most probably a weapons training cadre badge.

2nd one looks like a privately made RMA / Paramedic badge for combat jacket.

Thank you gents for your replies. Shame nothing 100% positive but youre all thinking pretty much the same as me so I cant be far wrong. Thanks for the nod to Essex Dave, I was thinking Middlesex!

ATC
I have an example of the ATC patch and have not been able to I d it either. Have always thought it was Middlesex related as it has the crown over the “swords”

Many thanks Bob. Your reply prompted me to check out the relevant badges and it seems it is Middlesex Wing, the Essex Wing not having the crown above the sea axes/Cutlass. Don't know why I didn't check that before!

TRF
Easy mistake to make, have missed the obvious myself on many an occasion.
Would have thought that the SLR would give us a time period although not sure when this style of patch began for cadets. Maybe Dragon can enlighten us? Bob |

The badge in question is the only one I have seen with an SLR. The versions now in use are either showing an SA80 or a target rifle. I believe these badges are only worn by the adult instructors of the various Regional SATTs and not by the cadets. The badges seem to have originated in the 1990s/early 2000s, which makes the subject badge even more of an enigma!
