Default Blue RTR beret badge

Gents, I have an RTR cloth beret badge which is black, but not sure why there would be one with a blue backing.

Anyone know anything about this? Could it be for cadets?

Thanks all

Bess

I don't know, but maybe 4th RTR related as blue was their regimental colour.

I also have a Black and a Blue cloth cap badge for the RTR. I understood the Blue one was for Cadets but I cannot confirm this.

I think there's mention by an ex-RTR forum member in a thread of both the blue and the black badges being worn by RTR in NI at different times, an initial version of the badge being blue.
